In April, Matt and Amanda re-ran Mutually Assured Revelations. The game takes place on a space ship as a group of aliens and humans must come to interact with one another as they approach and land on the planet they will be living on together. The second run of the game took a much different turn from the first!
In February, Amy and Melissa ran their game, High Obon – a four hour MIT style LARP. The game begins as the Nara Shrine now stands empty on the third, final sunset of the 10th High Obon with a unknown Second Crisis,a new unprepared Head Miko, and three powerful Oni parades vying for power.
In December, Sarah ran Particle Panic Perfect – a game about the Very Large Hadron Supercollider and what happens when the President of the University gives a tour to some donors. Of course, it is extremely unlikely that anything out of the ordinary will occur on such a routine occasion.
At the end of October, Acata, Aaron and Chris ran our largest Grand LARP yet – Lost in the Mists – with 26 players! The game takes place in the modern day at eerie, fog shrouded Wax-Chandler University, situated in the equally weird and mysterious Town of Nevermore. The community sits at the crossroads of the dangerous, alien fae, normal and not so normal humans, and the traumatized changelings who straddle the divide. Samhain is usually a dangerous time as the veil between worlds thins, but this year even more bizarre things are afoot.
Although it may be the end of Spring, Acata and Jeremy ran “Sorrows of Winter” on May 12. The game brought players to a winter market where they played out the roles of changelings. It also provided an opportunity to learn more about the systems planned for the 2018 Grand LARP!
